What is desipramine hydrochloride?


Desipramine hydrochloride USP is an antidepressant drug of the tricyclic type available as tablets of 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg or 150 mg for oral administration. Its chemical name is 5H-Dibenz[b,f]azepine-5-propanamine, 10, 11-dihydro-N-methyl-, monohydrochloride. Desipramine hydrochloride is indicated for the treatment of depression.
