What is ephedrine hydrochloride?


Hydrochloric acid is the same acid that is used in the stomach to help digest food. It is used as a supplement for low stomach acid that is said to impact a variety of diseases. A list of these diseases include: acne rosacea, anemia, bronchial asthma, depression, dermatitis herpetiformis, diabetes mellitus, eczema, gall bladder disease, infection, low iron, irritable bowel syndrome, lupus, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, periodontal (gum) disease, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, seborrheic dermatitis, urticaria, and vitiligo.

Dopamine Hydrochloride and 5% Dextrose Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution of Dopamine Hydrochloride, USP and Dextrose, USP in Water for Injection. Structural formulas are shown below:Dopamine Hydrochloride and 5% Dextrose Injection, USP is intended for intravenous use only. It contains no antimicrobial agents. The pH is adjusted with hydrochloric acid and is 3.5 (2.5 to 4.5). Approximately 5 mEq/L sodium bisulfite is added as a stabilizer. The solution provides a caloric content of 170 kcal/L. The solution is intended for single use only. When smaller doses are required, the unused portion should be discarded. Composition and osmolarity are given below:800 mcg/mL Dopamine Hydrochloride and 5% Dextrose Injection, USP provides 800 mcg/mL Dopamine Hydrochloride, USP and 50 g/L Dextrose Hydrous, USP with an osmolarity of 261 mOsmol/L (calc). Dopamine hydrochloride is indicated for the correction of hemodynamic imbalances present in the shock syndrome due to myocardial infarctions, trauma, endotoxic septicemia, open heart surgery, renal failure and chronic cardiac decompensation as in congestive failure.

Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection USP, is a sterile, aqueous solution of lidocaine, an antiarrhythmic agent, prepared with the aid of hydrochloric acid. It is intended for intravenous administration by either direct injection or continuous infusion. Lidocaine hydrochloride administered intravenously, is specifically indicated in the acute management of ventricular arrhythmias such as those occurring in relation to acute myocardial infarction, or during cardiac manipulation, such as cardiac surgery.

Naloxone Hydrochloride Injection is indicated for the complete or partial reversal of opioid depression, including respiratory depression, induced by natural and synthetic opioids including propoxyphene, methadone, and certain mixed agonist-antagonist analgesics: nalbuphine, pentazocine, butorphanol and cyclazocine. Trimethobenzamide hydrochloride is a sterile solution for intramuscular injection. Daunorubicin hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of an anthracycline cytotoxic antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces coeruleorubidus. It is provided as a deep red sterile liquid in vials for intravenous administration only. Each mL contains 5 mg daunorubicin (equivalent to 5.34 mg of daunorubicin hydrochloride), 9 mg sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH), and water for injection, q.s. It has the following structural formula which may be described with the chemical name of (1S,3S)-3-Acetyl-1,2,3,4,6,11-hexahydro-3,5,12-trihydroxy-10-methoxy-6,11-dioxo-1-naphthacenyl 3-amino-2,3,6-trideoxy-α-L-lyxo-hexopyranoside hydrochloride. Its molecular formula is C27H29NO10&bull,HCl with a molecular weight of 563.99. It is a hygroscopic crystalline powder. The pH of a 5 mg/mL aqueous solution is 4 to 5. Daunorubicin hydrochloride in combination with other approved anticancer drugs is indicated for remission induction in acute nonlymphocytic leukemia (myelogenous, monocytic, erythroid) of adults and for remission induction in acute lymphocytic leukemia of children and adults.

Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is an antihistamine drug having the chemical name 2-(Diphenylmethoxy)-N,N-dimethylethylamine hydrochloride. It occurs as a white, crystalline powder, is freely soluble in water and alcohol and has the molecular weight of 291.82. The molecular formula is C17H21NO&bull,HCl. The structural formula is as follows:Diphenhydramine hydrochloride injection is a sterile, pyrogen-free solution intended for I.M. or I.V. administration. Each mL contains 50 mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, USP and sufficient hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide solution for pH adjustment (5.0&ndash,6.0). This product contains no antimicrobial preservative and is intended as a single use vial, once the unit is assembled and used, any remaining portion of the solution must be discarded with the entire unit. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride in the injectable form is effective in adults and pediatric patients, other than premature infants and neonates, for the following conditions when Diphenhydramine in the oral form is impractical.
